Love Taipei #1

This five days trip to Taipei was actually a last minute plan. We originally plan to go to Beijing at first, we even paid travel agent deposit to join a 5days tour to the capital city of China. Although people around us have been asking us to prepare a back up plan just in case Beijing trip get cancel last minute, we still have other options. I don't know why but both of us had been really relax on this, we were like, its fine if it got cancel, we still can go to HK to shop, no big deal, lol!

Well yes apparently the trip is cancel eventually. Reason was because there isn't enough people joining so it was forced to cancel. =.= And they only informed us about it like One week before the departure day. Freaking panic at the moment because due to the short notice, we have to decide and come out with another plan asap. By that time we don't feel like going to HK already coz we realized that it was a waste to spend five days there.

So we were deciding between Taiwan, Hang Zhou and Shanghai. Taiwan wins all the hand down because going to Hang Zhou or Shanghai is a little over budget for us, maybe next time. Yes so Taipei it is! Talked about this, I have to extend my gratitude to two people who made this trip runs smoothly for us. First is Carol who is so kind lending us her credit card. To reserve flight tickets online through Eva Airline, Hong Kong/ China Airline was such a pain in the ass. Unlike Airasia, these three airlines actually require the credit card holder to on broad together as well pffft dafug is this! Both Sin Mei & I have NO credit card and we were running ups & down borrowing people's credit card to reserve tickets but stupid airlines have so many unacceptable rules & regulation, we nearly fail to book any flight. Super panic but luckily we still left with one last option, which is Carol had to help us to sign a third party credit card authorization form at the airline center, and that has to be approved by the company at least 48 hours before we depart. =.= gan jiong. Thanks big time to Carol babi. <3

And obstacles have not ended at this part yet. "Accommodations" our second challenges.
Nearly all the budget hotels were fully reserved on our traveling period. Sial. I don't know why since it is not any peak season. Later did I know it was because Lady Gaga was having concert tour in Taipei, and Kim Hyun Joong was also there to meet his fans, so most of the hotels were reserved by their fans. Bad times. It was 5 days before our trip and we still had no idea where to stay yet. However, this second VIP to receive our big Thanks is my sister! Thanks for her effort and times, she successfully booked accommodation for four nights (First & forth night- Nihao@Taipei, second night- Rose Boutique Hostel and third night- Jiufen Jing Jian Hostel) I don't know how she did it when I tried and failed. Thank you thank you so much we love you! Big Hugs! <3

Everything settled finally. On Friday, we on board happily to embarked our journey to the land of food, finally.

To describe Taiwan, I would like to say it is a place where all the friendly people come from.
Its true! You will never have to worry about yourself getting lost in the city because everyone is so willing to help showing you the path, even when they are not sure how to reach to a certain place, they would actually stand by the road side and google map it for you. Some more they would bring you to your destination and make sure you reach there safely. lol! Taiwanese are all so friendly and helpful! Besides, their foods are so cheap and yummy, even their onigiri from 7-11 taste so good I actually had it most of the time, lol.

Enough of the windy words, lets pictures do the talking from now.
Boarding with Eva Air, it just takes 1 1/2 hour to reach Taipei from Macau. Just nice for an episode of variety show.

First night at Nihao@Taipei Hostel, located at a very convenient place - Taipei main station.
Clean and neat room, love how they keep the room so homey. The only flaw is we have to share bathroom with other floor mates.

Flight got delayed so we only able to visit one place on day one.
Which was Xi Men Ding 西门町, the infamous shopping district for youngster.

The Red House Theater 西门红楼 which has been keeping well since the Japanese era. Its one of the touristy spots in Taipei.

Inside of the Red House Theater.

Walked into the theater, there are some display of the historical structures and a cafe, and unexpectedly, there are several shops selling designer arts in there. Each and every of the shops selling interesting stuffs and all are originally designed by the owner themselves, so you cannot find the same products else where other than here. I love independent artists' arts, they're all very special, albeit they cost a little much, lol.

Especially this shop above selling all kinds of vintage design goods, its my favorite! I grabbed a phone case and a camera pouch here. Would love to revisit this shop again if I ever go back. :)

While waiting for my sis to finish class, we wandered around the shopping area. Found this must eat Taiwanese style fried chicken 盐酥鸡. It is fried chicken seasoned with basil, chilli powder and some minced garlic, very common snack in Taiwan. Heavy flavored but we just couldn't stop eating this. :)

Another must eat in Xi Men Ding, the popular 阿宗面线 Ay Chung vermicelli.
Its a stewed rice noodles with pork intestines and a strong smell of dried bonito flakes. Not bad, I think people who likes shark fin soup would love this too, it is more or less the same taste and texture.

Must drink in Taiwan. This 青蛙下蛋 direct translate Frog giving birth wtf.
It is named after the pearl balls which looks like baby frog, taste like pearl milk tea without milk but with lemon. Geddit geddit!? =D

Bought some donuts home for supper.

These onigiri from 7-11 are so so good that makes me wanna go back to Taiwan again, lol!
Remember the package and my favorite is always the chicken floss one. <3 Please buy some for me if you go to Taiwan too.

Looks cute but taste meh. Too sweet for my liking.

Head back to hostel and met up with the sister who just ended her class!
Glad to have her around during this whole trip.

Day one done. More upcoming posts on Taipei coming soon. :) Stay tuned.

I'm finally back!

Can't believe the last time I blog was on February :O freaking 3 months have passed!! I think I really forget about this site, lol! *cleaning dusts and cobwebs

Anyway, I'm back! Been actually thinking to close this site down coz blogging is not in trend anymore, at least not around my friends. Some more I don't think anyone is reading my blog lol lol! But, my mom and housemate have been asking me why I haven't been updating, especially my mom, she has been questioning me tons and tons of time, loyal reader lol wtf! And just last night I read some of my archives, I found out that I lost memories of some happenings in the past (short term memories i had), I don't remember how this and that happened, especially life back in college. Reread your own archives is fun coz you get to see how different is your perspective on life from last time when you were young compare to now. Some more you can see how you've become from a little teenage girl to now, an all grown up adult. So I'm actually quite glad that I documented them down it in my blog so that I can review them from time to time and not forgetting any single important things happened in my life.

Proud to announce that I'm back for good this time! Gonna start blogging and documenting those important events that ever happened to me. One, it is for my future reference and self review, two, is to
share them with my family and friends.

I hope my determination of keeping this blog alive will last, at least for few more years. And when I grow older next time, I'll be able to see what did I do during my twenties.

Have to run to work now, next post will be on my recent trip to Taipei. Ciao!

To my sis,

Be good ok!
 等我有空时去找你~ Miss ya :) <3

My 8days holiday :)

Today's weather remain at 16 degree celcius, not too cold nor too hot, it's just right with some wind breezing through your window, such a lovely weather. It is true when people says good weather helps lighten up your mood, as 'm feeling extra energetic and calm now. :)

Just finish my CNY holiday at hometown not long ago. Very glad that I was back for this special occasion coz I got to meet lots of relatives and friends that I haven't seen for ages, everyone's back for CNY, and I love spending all the quality moments with the family  I'm still sorting out and organizing those photos though, please give me some time heh.

Time is never enough during holiday, luckily I still managed to make the best out of it. Hopefully I'll be able to make it for the family reunion dinner on nin 30 next CNY since I missed it this year, maybe I can start read some recipes so that I can help for the dinner? I know I sound ridiculous coz this cny just passed and i am already so excited on planning next year cny dinner  =.= but time flies you know, and with this year's cny bringing so much joy to me, I've already cannot wait for the next one to come. The only flaw for this cny is I don't get to see my BFF :( p/s to Yi Vun, Grace and Chui Wui, please go back to Sdk next cny please ! We haven't have any picture of five of us together since high school lo! :)

While waiting for me to sort the holiday photos out, let me share some pictures taken on my departure day, which is last Monday, 30 January. I was on the same flight with my dad, who was going to KL to attend digi annual dinner. Which later on my dad accompanied me at LCCT for 6 hours before I catch the next morning flight to Macau.

I thought the six hours together with my dad will be him sleeping and me playing games from my phone, well, it turned out to be us chatting for hours. Imagine a pair of father daughter sharing deepest thoughts, secrets and life/working experiences at Coffee Bean, just the two of us. It was the first time in my life. Its not like I don't usually talk with my dad, I gotta admit that I'm quite sticky to my parents and we're closed like buddies. But this kind of heart-to-heart talk with my dad has never happened since my teenage years start, I used to be a rebellious teenage who always fight with the parents back then. It was quite sad to know how hard he has to worked in order to raise a family of five, and there was a phase that he used to be so worried to go to the supermarket with his daughters (aka us) because his earnings only able to afford our living expenses but my sis and I  tend to grab all the snacks from the rack to our cart every time go grocery shopping, like they're free. Some more we like buying all those honeystars cococrunch which are slightly expensive compare to those potato chips or local keropok, wtf what kind of daughters are these. fml I feel so bad, so add one more resolution to my list, 3. work hard and save more. :) Now that I'm all grown up, I hope my tiny bit of salary can help lessen your burden, and of course, thanks god our financial at least is on a stable stage now. I love you ba and ma  thanks for everything!

Coincidentally, I bumped into many high school friends who were on the same flight too. I even jumped into my primary buddy who I thought she already left to kl for few days but actually she missed her flight so she bought another ticket and we're on the same plane that night. D:

I love this shot so much I even edited some lighting, added some hearts around and set it as wallpaper on my phone. :)

With Alvin who lost a lot of weight :O

Allison! Didn't manage to catch up with her but fate arranges us to meet at the airport, lol! Enjoy your trip to France! *waves hand!

Alvin, Alvin's girl Charlie, and Allison.

HAHAHHA my primary bud who missed her flight. Ok I'm actually very glad that you missed your flight otherwise we won't be having a picture together, lol! She has this forever baby face, I swear she looks exactly the same from primary 1 until now! :P

Us with my sis
So my sis said this angle makes me look thinner, and she asked me to smile to the camera.

which I did, but I think I look very awkward =.=

Thanks to Alvin for being our photographer, he has been ordered by me to take all these polaroids, lol!

With my beloved baby sis!

Hah, what a cny without all the snacks.
Applaud to my mom who made all these new year snacks! She actually made more but these are some I bring over to Macau. FYI, I've already finish the bottom three cans by myself in just 7 days! *likeaboss.
They're just so good! Thanks mom
